What does my gift mean and how do I make it stronger?

December 31, 2010

From Frankia:

I have always been able to “read” people but there have been a few instances where I’ve felt its more than that.  The first was when I was in high school roughly 14 years old. I had gotten on the bus that morning and as I passed this boy I had never spoken to or noticed before I had this overwhelming feeling something was wrong and so I sat next to him and asked him what was wrong. He of course looked at me crazy and said nothing but when I looked into his eyes I felt dark hollow feeling and I just knew he had done something potentially lethal. I badgered him some and he finally told me that he had taken 12 Ritalin just before getting on the bus so he could die. I talked him into going to the nurse where the ambulance was called and he was rushed to the hospital to get his stomach pumped. I saved his life that day. Another instance I told some girl about her family life in great detail which the info just came to me by looking in her eyes. She was mortified that I knew so much and didn’t speak to me after that. Lol… I have used tarot cards to give my friends readings which resulted in being dead on. What does this all mean? If I have a gift how can I make it stronger? Is there anyone who would be my mentor? Thank you taking the time to reply…..

Inspirations from Binah:

You have a beautiful gift; the question lies not in what it means, but instead, in what want to do with it.  Some people feel called to work through the spiritual realms, becoming energy healers or providing guidance, yet others choose to channel their gifts through more traditional professions.  Imagine using your ability in a medical practice or as a social worker.  No matter what path you choose, remember that your power is there to help you achieve your goals, thus empowering to help those around you.

As the new year begins, this is a great time to set intentions and begin a journey.  Use this energy to step onto the path of self-discovery -to uncover your life purpose and develop your talents.  As the clock swings past midnight, ask your Higher Self to show you the path and consciously step into your new role as student.  You are a disciple of the world, seeking instruction from the physical and spiritual, then bringing that into yourself for integration and application.

From within your meditative world, speak openly with your Higher Self about the learning you seek.  Write down what you wish you accomplish and then explore what it will take to get you there.  Think about fears you need to release, knowledge you have yet to acquire and the emotional resources to get you there.

With your intentions set, you have only one more thing to do: be open.  Answers will come in many forms, so it is important to capture all messages and take them into meditation for understanding.  A friend may offer you a book, you may come across a course you wish to take, online browsing may bring you to the website of a fantastic teacher… even a simple conversation in the check-out line of the supermarket may spark a new piece for you to explore.

As the old saying goes, “When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.”  Declare yourself ready to discover how to develop and use your talents in your life journey and soon you will realize that your guides are walking beside you.

How can I keep my heart from not being broken again?

December 21, 2010

From Carmen:

I have found love twice, I believe.  One died suddenly 3 years ago.  For the past two years, I have had another relationship, but a few days ago something changed and he turned around and said to me “I seem to imagine a different relationship”!

We were not in contact for a while and a year ago we agreed to go back into some type of relationship.  For sure I know he likes me for a long time, but he is married.  Last week, he had breakfast with me for my birthday… After a few days, I sent him a message saying I really wanted to see him again soon and he turned around and said I think too much.  I feel like a fool.

At this stage, I just need someone to spend a little time with me.  How can I keep my heart from not being broken again and again.  Is something wrong with me?

Inspirations from Binah:

Relationships require give and take, an equitable flow of energy between people.  You already know that this man is not interested in a true relationship, so it is better for you to walk away now.

You began your final paragraph by saying that you only want someone to spend a little time with you, but then go on to say how you fear having your heart broken.  Those two sentences contradict each other, for if all you really want is a companion, you would not invest your heart and therefore, there would be nothing to break.  Before stepping into another relationship, it is time to step back to discover what you truly want.

There are times when words are not the best way to express, so use pictures instead.  Sit down with a few magazines, a pair of scissors, a poster board and some glue.  Go through all the magazines and cut out pictures that represent what you want in a relationship.  Release your thoughts and react to each picture emotionally, cutting things out without thinking about them.  The pictures should represent all areas of a relationship, including activities, how you feel when you are together, what your future will be like and so forth.  Have fun with this, cutting out everything that makes you smile.

When you are done, arrange the pictures on the poster board and glue them into place, creating a collage.  Resist the urge to think about what each picture means, that will come later.  For now, let your creative side take over and put each piece in place, creating a great work of art.

With your collage complete, you can begin using this new tool for self-discovery.  Sit in your sacred space, ready to meditate on the symbol you have created.  Call in your Higher Self and guides, place the collage comfortably in front of you and stare at it as you enter into a meditative trance.  Let the images wash over you, covering your entire being with this energy.  When you are ready, close your eyes and journey into your ideal relationship.  Record all that you experience.

Over time, use this collage as a way to discover not only what you want in a relationship, but what you need to heal in yourself in order to attract it.  Ask your Higher Self to guide you as you see the cords and fears that keep pushing you into unhealthy relationships.  Each time you meditate with the collage, ask a different question, such as:

  • What is holding me back from attracting my ideal relationship?
  • How do I cut the cords and heal?
  • When my partner looks at me, who do I want he/she to see?
  • How do I become the person I want to be in this relationship?

The collage is a visual representation of what you truly want.  Meditating on it, will take you deep into that energy so that you can find the answers your waking mind seeks.  This process may take time, so be strong and realize that at the end of the path, you will find a stronger and healthier you, one ready to share a life, not lose yourself into another’s.

What is my dream job?

September 21, 2010

From Perish:

Like many people in this economy, I was recently let go from my job.  I started looking for a new job, but I can’t figure out what I should look for.  People keep telling me that now is the time to find my dream job, but how do I know what that is?  Is there a “dream job” database somewhere I can look through?

Inspirations from Binah:

From the time we are old enough to talk, we are often asked, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” For some, a job defines who they are (teacher, doctor, inventor); for others, a job provides the means to acquire what they need (money, time, skills) in order to do what fulfills them. And while the paths being traveled are quite different, they each bring a deep level of happiness and purpose.

Discovering your dream job is a multi-part process. First, you must determine what is most important to you in life. What are your dreams? What motivates you? What are you passionate about? What makes you happy? This search is internal, reflecting on emotions and experiences gathered throughout the years. To find the answers, you must look deep within yourself and begin to answer these questions free of the constraints of a ‘job description’.

Over the course of a week, carry a notebook with you to record the experiences that bring you a sense of purpose. Allow your meditative state to go beyond the classical position of sitting in silence and bring communion with the natural elements, such as sitting in the sun, walking amongst the trees, feeling a breeze or swimming in a lake, into your introspection. In order to fully experience all this world has to offer and how you are meant to interact with it, take this one step further and explore what man has made with the elements. Buildings, cars, textiles, technology… all that surrounds you came from Source, and your daily interaction with the material plane provides valuable clues to what path you must travel.

At the end of the week, go through your notes and organize them into lists of qualities or traits that fulfill what is most important to you. There is still no need to think about how these will become a ‘job’, that will come in a subsequent step, for now you must only concentrate on understanding what you want in your daily life. When you are done, go into meditation with your Higher Self and ask if there is anything else you should include. Remember to review each question to ensure you have answered it as fully as possible:

  • What are your dreams?
  • What motivates you?
  • What are you passionate about?
  • What makes you happy?

With your list in had, there are two last questions to answer:

  1. Are you going to fulfill your life purpose within the job or does the job provide the means for you to fulfill you life purpose outside of business hours?
  2. What is your dream job?

I know a man whose life purpose is to explore the world under the sea and share his knowledge and experience freely to a limited audience. He has a 9 to 5 job that provides him with the means to travel to unusual sites, dive on the weekends and write in the evenings. While his job does not fulfill him, it provides all the necessary elements for him to happily work during the week, content in the knowledge that his life purpose is being achieved every time he swims in the ocean.

On the opposite side of the spectrum, I know a painter who believes in “being what she does and doing what she is”. Try as she might, she cannot turn off being an artist, for it is deeply ingrained in her being. And while she feels quite strongly that her life purpose involves the arts, she knows that she was not intended to create the next great masterpiece. Instead, she has chosen to work for her local city government determining what neighborhoods would benefit from having public art and working with local artists to get them funding for their projects.

Step back into meditation with your Higher Self and ask yourself which type of job will make you most happy. Use Frankincense, Eucalyptus and Myrrh to raise your vibration to its highest levels and open you up to receive divine guidance. While you may think that choosing you job is the most important question to answer, it is actually ‘what type of job’ that will determine if you to go work every day feeling content.

Once when you have received your answer, you can move on to the final question with the confidence that you will find success in your quest. To discover your dream job, you will take your search out beyond your internal guidance. Using Astral Travel or Dream Work, ask the beings beyond the veil to take your list of qualities that fulfill your life purpose, combine it with your choice to either be your job or have a job, and provide you with what you need in order to find your “dream job”. You may receive job descriptions, companies to investigate or people to contact. Erase all expectations and record all that comes. Within the messages will be the database of jobs you seek.

And if you’re wondering how I know this will work… it is thanks to this work, and an enlightening Pegasus on the Astral Realm, that Inspirations from Binah was born.

Can faith expunge the desire?

September 3, 2010

Last night, I asked the Universe for a sign.  I thought I was being very deliberate in my words, stating exactly what I need to see.  This morning an answer arrived, but it leaves me more perplexed.  The confusion does not arise from my mind, it comes from my heart.  My mind is set.  It sees the landscape and understands the road ahead, thought it is not attached to the destination, but the heart is not so easily swayed.  It holds tight to its desires.

So where is my faith?  Faith is a strong belief in a power beyond your own.  Faith says that no matter what happens, I believe it is what is best.  You see, I have faith, but the heart is trying to undermine my resolve.  Cords to expectations have been cut, the mind has released hope, but the heart still desires.  It desires something that cannot be right now.  I have faith that patiently continuing on this path will lead to happiness, though I do not know what that happiness looks like, but if faith tells me this is the right path, then why does desire create so much doubt?

And there lies my confusion.  Together, the mind and heart work to balance the emotions.  The thing is, which one is right?  Is my heart is telling me that what I desire is what I should go after, or should I trust my mind which says that right now what I desire is not for me?  Faith attempts to create a layer of peace, but the tug-o-war between the heart and mind has the emotions running overtime.  One minute, the mind’s logic calms the waters and continues forward movement, and the next the heart’s desires take over causing rough seas that suspend all travel.

The questions I ask myself are:

“How do you tell if the desire is a warning flag vs. a cord that must be cut?”

and

“If there is faith that the path is right, is there a way to expunge the desire?”

I gather up my tools, set my sacred space and call in my Higher Self:

  • Gardenia incense burns, sending my questions to the Universe and asking for revelation of new knowledge.
  • Snowflake Obsidian soothes so that I may clearly see cords to patterns of behavior that may need to be cut.
  • Unikite provides balance between emotions and spirituality, gently releasing conditions that inhibit spiritual and psychological growth.
  • Carnelian grounds me into the present reality and imparts an acceptance of the cycle of life.
  • Lapis Lazuli releases stress, brings deep peace and harmonizes physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels.
  • Stone from Montserrat to ground and integrate all I receive.

Into meditation I go, open to all that will be revealed.  May the answers dispel the doubt and reinforce my faith…

· Stone from Montserrat to ground and integrate all I receive.
