What should I be doing with my educational career?

December 4, 2009

From yogamoon:

in some ways I know what to do and in others I am unsure which direction to send my energy..

example: I could use a business card- I have a generic one with contact info which would work well for distribution in professional educators circles-the main use would be to distribute to try to get more substitute teaching.. yet I am reluctant to do that- there is so little work that all efforts so far have provided little work in that regard- its a good thing that there is much less illness than expected and that HR hired extra people in anticipation of this BUT it means little work..

SO I am turning my energy to more fitness etc.. where I have another skill set and yet a yoga-looking card which would be good.. I can’t seem to decide on a design..
I know this card would not be as well-received by some teachers for sub teaching..

I am staying stuck deciding on a card. NOT BY CHOICE!!

This is one thing.. it is also apart of a new unsettling ongoing question .. which way which career? what is happening with my education career? is is ending unexpectedly ? I have applied for more jobs than you can imagine.. and the ahem younger set gets them over and over or the jobs were misposted or cut or normal blah blah..

basically – i am unsure of what to do with my education career which seems to be changing and possibly ending yet I don’t want that. But I cant keep on applying for jobs which 700 people apply for and 25 year old people continue to get.

What should i be doing?

Inspirations from Binah:

There are some careers that become just jobs, places you to go for a few hours on most days to complete a set of tasks and earn money that can be put into other passions. There are other careers that become a part of who you are, in essence, they are your passion and an integral part of your life. For the latter, the idea that it could end by something other than your choice is impossible.

Educator is a role that once you decide to embody, you are at all times of your life. You say you don’t want your educational career to end, therefore you have answered your own question. Even if 1000 people are applying for the same job, it will be offered to you when you are spiritually and emotionally ready for it.

On a physical level, look over your materials and see what may be holding you back from past jobs. Resume, attitude, cover letter, form of writing… all these are indicative of who you are as a person and educator. Revise your materials so that they show all the beauty, love, compassion, and education you posses. You may discover that although you have the experience and knowledge, you are not showing it.

Spiritually, work with your Higher Self to discover what is holding you back from feeling like you have more to offer than a 25 year old, and showing that through your actions and materials. Before applying for another job, know why you want it and why you are the best fit. Release attachments to negative patterns and judgments, infuse the application with the energy of your qualifications, set an intention for success, and bless it with love energy. Using both your physical and spiritual aspects together will strengthen your work and allow you to achieve your goal.

Being an educator is one of the most important careers you can choose. Show that you understand and accept all aspects of the role and you will obtain true success.

I want to find a job that brings me happiness

September 28, 2009

From Marguerite:

I have moved to be closer to my family and love it.  The issue I’m having is finding a part time job that will bring me satisfaction and value.  I have started a job at a travel agency but I am totally bored and don’t find it a warm environment, the people are nice but closed.  I keep missing signs I think!!!!!!!!  I just need something that brings me to be happy to go to the job site whatever that is. I need the money to supplement my pension and love people.

Thanks you for your comments.  I have the bear paw on a wall hanging and it says “when one door closes another door will open”  I truly believe this and hope to get some clarification on what to do.
Thank you

Inspirations from Binah:

Career advancement, pay, environment, duties, people… all these are elements that must be balanced in order to find the best job. And while these relate specifically to what ‘you’ get out of the job, there is also what your colleagues get from working with you.

You recognize that the job you have right now has a nice environment, but the people are closed. Maybe your reason for being there is beyond the job duties – you could be there to provide a model for how to live life openly. Most people do not choose to be closed, they are instead struggling to find a way to safely shed their barriers and open to the world around them. Having you in the office can provide the support and energy they need to allow themselves to see beyond the dark shadows of closed doors and begin to receive the beauty of the light you transmit. Give them a chance to respond to what you have to offer. You may find your true value is just your presence.

I want to start my career, but my mind is full of negative thoughts

September 26, 2009

From Latisa:

Hi, I have been so long putting off starting my career and my own business for like ten years.  Now, through all the depression, lupus, anxiety, congestive heart failure, I want to achieve my goals.  But sometime it’s hard because my mind tell me negative thought and  running all day.  What should I do?

Inspirations from Binah:

Negative thoughts is a problem shared by many. Whether through conditioning, disease or just the way we were born, it is something we grapple with every day. For some, correcting it is a simple process of training yourself to think in positives. For others, it is about recognizing that this is the way your mind works and creating positive words and actions to counteract your negative thoughts.

Instead of focusing your energy on your thoughts themselves, put your energy into the output of your thoughts. When you think of something negative, immediately think of the positive you want to act on and either say that out loud or write it down. For example, say you want to take a class to learn how to start your own business. You mind may immediately say, “Why do that? You’re never going to have the money to start your own business so its not worth it.” Listen to this thought, realize that it is just negative and contrary with no foundation, then create a goal to take the course by writing it down in your manifestation plan or announcing your intention to those around you. Understand that the negative thought is empty and that the real energy is in the positive action you are going to complete.

Over time, you will find that the negative voice becomes weak. Though it may always be with you, it will no longer hold you back from acting in the positive. Affirmations are also a great way to reinforce the positive action. Use them daily to replace the negative thoughts with a list of all your positive action items.

With a bit of creative thinking, and trust in your inner power, you will be able to use your negative thoughts to your advantage. Do not try to fight it, just accept that they will come and transmute them into something you can work with. Your words and actions can override even the most stubborn, negative thought. Choose your words carefully and you will find your true power for manifestation.

I am homeless and rootless, what is happening?

June 4, 2009

From Elaine:

I have been reading tarot for many years now and only on a casual basis.  i am employed in the world of social housing and have a knack for the people with problems of some sort.  I seem to be able to get through to them and help them with their current crisis.  I am currently working in social housing with the elderly who are of course now more and more active at the age of 60! Most of my 50+ tenants are over 80 but some are much younger.  one in particular is in her 60s and fit and active but has extreme mental problems and although i have done my best with her is dangerous when she is angry.  She has twice poured something caustic over my car but has not been caught doing it, she has made threats about me and is currently being investigated by the police.  My company has moved me out of my present accommodation and is looking for ways of protecting me whilst dealing with this tenant.  my doctor has signed me off work as the whole thing has upset me badly and affected my finances as my car has been written off.  My company is not interested in the financial side and nothing like this has happened before.  We are to work on a policy (at my request) to prevent any other employees going through this again.

Meanwhile, i am homeless, rootless, going between two different homes and feeling like i have no real home at all.  I am trying to be positive and my cards all show this coming to an end but i don’t know whether i want to be involved in housing any more.  I have an inclination to use my spirituality in some way, i am 54 years old and have a good deal of life experience good and  bad behind me.  I don’t have much money but trust i will have enough in my future and always try to help people.  They seem to come to me with their problems.  i have learnt how to protect myself to some extent and i have been told i have a gift and an amazing white sparkling aura.  People who are strangers have told me things that are very strange and personal.  What is happening?

Inspirations from Binah:

A time of transition has begun, and while it may seem uncomfortable, the end is close at hand. This is an opportunity to learn that “home” is not a structure. In a world filled with so many beautiful possessions, it is easy to think that home is a physical space or a set of objects. When this becomes your definition, you lose sight of the true meaning of home… a place you create regardless of where you are… a place within your heart and mind where you find safety and love so you can continue to grow. There is no doubt that your roots are firmly planted in the commitment you have to helping others and your ability to create a safe environment for you and those around you.

Many search their whole lives looking for home, while you create it where ever you are. Whether you return to housing or find a new path, you will thrive in the safety you create. Allow this rare gift to guide you as you begin this next phase of your life. Your guidance has already shown you that the way includes using your talent for creating “home” to help others. With your roots are deeply embedded with Mother Gaia, now is the time to reach for the sky.
