How do I take my career to the next level?

May 22, 2011

Ayamanatara shares:

I feel ready to take my career to the next level. What do I need to do?

Inspirations from Binah replies:

For many of us, our careers and lives blend into one creating a rich landscape filled with experiences and inspiration. It is through this wonderful embrace of “who you are” and “what you do” that you can create without limits, turning dreams into reality. It is here where the heart of an artist resides, for it takes artistry and creative thought to turn a job into a meaningful career that fuels the life you want to live.

Along the path, there may be obstacles that prevent you from allowing yourself to reach the dizzying heights you long for. Yes, work-life balance is important, but that only applies to work done without emotion. A career can be different, if you want it to be. A career can be a part of who you are, converting ordinary work into life purpose, and easily showing you how to balance all the great loves in your life.

It is clear that you are ready to move away from the thought of a job and into a career that fulfills you. Equally clear is that there is something blocking the way; something hiding in the shadows that must be exposed and cleared if you are to continue forward. Let us take a walk through the landscape of your internal self in search of answers. I have a feeling there are trusted guides nearby.

A Brilliant Meadow of Delights

You first notice the deep vegetation covering the ground. The landscape has changed. It is rich and alive with grasses and plants. The meadow feels welcoming and invites you to relax. There is a light breeze, carrying with it the smell of fresh lemons. You feel safe and protected.

As you wander across the meadow, you hear the sound of rocks being moved. You walk closer and see a man creating a circle out of stones. Silently, you watch him work. Even though he is bent down, you can tell that he is tall, heavy and strong. He is wearing an tunic and trousers in earth tones. He looks at one with the earth, and yet with the unmistakable energy of someone not from this plane. With the last rock in place, the circle is complete. Almost immediately, a layer of meadowsweet begins to grow in between the stones filling the circle with the vibrant energy full of life.

With his work complete, your host looks at you and waves you in. You step over the meadowsweet covered rocks  and into the circle. The energy here is crisp, as if it just rained. You look at your host and feel like you are in the presence of your Holy Guardian Angel. He chuckles and says, “I get that a lot. I am Sandalphon, welcome to my Kingdom.”

“I can see that you are in search of something, a key that will give you the ability to overcome the inertia you feel with your career. It is important to be grounded, but too much of that can lead to laziness. It is important to find the balance, something you are currently lacking. I think I know just the person who can help you.”

He steps out and disappears into a brilliant light. You sit in the circle and feel the physical world around you through all your senses. Ideas and images keep swirling around, showing you the physical barriers preventing you from reaching your career goals. You make note of each one, silently asking for guidance on what you must do to overcome them.

Sandalphon returns and he is followed by someone, or something. The light is so bright you can barely keep your eyes open. Sandalphon turns to the other being and says with a humorous tone, “OK, Mr Wizard, you are brilliant. Now can you turn the light show down a notch so we can actually see you?” With a chuckle, the light dims and you clearly see the man behind the light. Even though he is laughing, you can feel an otherworldliness to him. There are no words to describe what you see and feel, it is as if all the power of the Universe is before you and yet, you also feel like he is all the power within you. He is pure Union with everything.

Sandalphon breaks the spell by saying, “May I present to you my brother, Metatron.” While there is still the same vegetation within the circle, you notice that there is now a row of flowering almond trees just beyond the meadowsweet covered stones. The air is lighter and perfumed by the almonds.

“My brother tells me you are feeling a little stagnant in your career progress. Fear not, it happens to the best of us. Sometimes, in our quest to feel stable and secure, we trap ourselves into a routine. To complete the Great Work, you need to regain your sense of wonder and use creative imagination to create change.”

Sandalphon continues his brother’s thoughts, “You see, while I provide what you need to build in the physical world, my brother provides the gift of clear and perceptive thought. This insight will allow you to recognize and resolve the obstacles on your career path. Together, we aid you in co-creating your reality in harmony with your life purpose so that you can feel safe even when taking a risk. Without risk, there is no growth.”

Metatron steps forward and hands you a single almond. Sandalphon lays some meadowsweet over it. “We are brothers in thought and deed. Allow your thoughts to flow up and down the Tree of Life, bringing dreams down to reality and raising reality to reach your dreams.”

Metatron turns to his brother, “It is time to leave. We must continue our work.” He turns to you, “Anytime you need us, you have only to think of our gifts. We are with you always.” With that, they both turn and exit the circle. You sit in focused meditation and follow their advice, exploring where you are, what is keeping you there and how to get to where you want to go.

How do I get the life I want?

August 5, 2010

From Jim:

I had my whole life planned out, and now that I am finishing my PhD, I realize it is not the life I want. I crave stability while what I want to do is inherently unstable. How do I move forward?

Inspirations from Binah:

Expectations begin at an early age. As you discover your talents and dream about the future, you develop ideas around what “could” and “should” be your life path. And while the possibilities play out before you, it is important to remember that what you are good at is not always the road that will bring you happiness.

No matter where you are in life, there is always an opportunity for change. Having an education is an asset, so if you are still enjoying school, as you finish your degree, use this time to explore new career fields. Call upon the passionate energy of Venus to confirm what you “want” to be doing, then take it into Mercury to find the most stable way to do it. While there are times when you will have to sacrifice to accomplish your goals, if the intent is right, though the sacrifice may be difficult, it is one your heart will happily make.

Begin on a Friday. Take a rose quartz and place it over you hara chakra. Go into meditation and ask, “What career will bring me a life of joy, happiness and ease?” Let the answers tumble around you. Record the images, sensations, sounds, smells and tastes you receive. When you are done, place the rose quartz on your altar in pure water. Throughout the week, take time to ponder your notes and notice the patterns. When more clarity is needed, take the rose quartz, place it once again on your hara, and return to meditation to further develop you career ideas.

When you find a clear path you wish to take, on the following Wednesday, place a sodalite crystal on your hara. Go into meditation and ask, “What steps do I need to take in order to create this career in a way that will bring stability and abundance?” Just as before, let the answers flow through your senses. Record everything, then place the sodalite in the same water as the rose quartz. Repeat this process as necessary, reaching clarity on where to go next.

When you have both the path and steps, on the following Saturday, place an Apache Tear Obsidian on your feet and bless your journey you have begun – grounding the energy and removing any self-limitations. With the ritual complete, leave behind your old plan and embark on the new, confident that you will achieve what you desire most.

How do I develop my personal oracling?

February 8, 2010

From Susan:

Will I be reunited with past love?

From Tiffany:

What’s this year gonna bring me?

Inspirations from Binah:

Personal oracling is a talent each of us process, we have only to learn how to develop it. There are many ways it can be cultivated including the use of objects such as Tarot or Runes, meditative study, astral travel, dreams and more.

To begin, take some time and write down all the ways you receive messages today. Allow yourself to think about both physical and non-physical senses. Include in your list mechanisms that may not be fully developed yet, but you feel are receiving. For example, many people know they dream, but do not retain their dreams. The knowledge that the dreams are happening means they should be added to the list because remembrance and interpretation can be developed over time.

Once you have your list, choose one method to master. Set aside time every day to consciously work with this talent – nurturing it, playing with it, making the process fun. Read books or webpages, seek out teachers or just sit in meditative study with this ability. Begin with only an intention to receive, then slowly progress to understanding, spending ample time in each step so as to capture all that is possible. Over time, you will find confidence in your work and instead of asking others for information, you will discover that you were being given the answers all along.

Is now the time?

January 26, 2010

From Kathy:

I have raised my 3 children on my own, the last one graduates this year. I know that there is something new and exciting just a head of me and I am eager to know what direction I am to be taking. Is this the time now that I will find a committed relationship with a special partner? Also I have wondered if I should retire from my present administration job and look into writing a book or becoming a life coach. I really look forward to your insight.

Inspirations from Binah:

One cycle of your life has reached its conclusion and as you look out toward your future, the road shows many paths that can be taken. Each one brings a unique combination of opportunities, and you have all the energy required to make them a part of your life. The question is, what do you want?

Take a minute and pose this question to your Higher Self. Sit in your quiet space, and ask to be shown what has held you back from finding a special partner or writing the next great work of literature. Enter the world of Netzack, the 7th Sephirah on the Tree of Life in Kabbalah, to explore your emotional energy and find where your passions lie. Tone Jehovah Tzabaoth to feel that fire energy of Creation, then call upon the great Archangel Haniel to guide you through your journey as you explore what you want and what is needed to receive it. Look for the light and the shadow, that which propels you forward and that which pulls you back. Be brave and receive all that there is, calling upon Binah, the Great Mother, when there is need in Understanding.

Once the path is clear, ask the Angels of the Elohim choir to work with you on any necessary planning to eradicate negative influences and find Victory in your journey. Step forward with confidence knowing that all that you want is there for the taking. You have the power to attract your heart’s desires, now is the time to exercise it.

What is happening to my life?

December 31, 2009

From Sharky:

Life has always been very difficult for me, I have had a marriage full of emotional abuse and financial threat though there were no financial problems, i was working in a great company but the company went down and we had to quit our job after all this I decided to go solo and work on my own but the depression or inertia that set in is really not subsiding also i was told that I was meant to be a healer and have a great affinity with the Tarot and Angel cards but i don’t know how to start marketing myself. I am totally engrossed in reading about mysticism and spirituality i don’t feel like going out to get business, i feel lazy, have memory lapses and sleep a lot with dreams which i do not remember on waking up. What is happening to my life i don’t understand. Please help me.

Inspirations from Binah:

The beginning of a journey is filled with great enthusiasm. New lessons are devoured as we search for the steps to be taken. And yet, there is also intense fear and worry. Following a new road means crossing uncharted territories and forging a path through land that once seemed uninhabitable. Laziness sets in – the feeling that everything is too difficult to work through and so it is better to do nothing.

But in your writing there is one thing that shines… HOPE. Hope moves you to seek help, fight the inertia and continue to move forward. Recognize that feeling of hope and use its momentum to guide you.

To begin, you have only to apply what you have learned. Start with a dream journal to receive the messages you are being given. Before going to bed, set your intention to remember your dreams. When you wake in the morning, do not move; lie in the exact position you find yourself in and replay all the dreams you can remember over and over again until they are memorized. Now write all that you have memorized to fully integrate it into your waking consciousness. Include every detail since you never know what will reveal a message. By making this a part of your daily routine, you will add a valuable tool for self-discovery to your toolbox.

Approach each obstacle as a chance to discover a new tool or insight. Look at it with hope and enthusiasm, for it is a chance to learn something about yourself. In time, an obstacle will no longer feel like an unmanageable problem, but instead will become an exciting adventure where you get to pull out new tools and put them to work.

With the new year you have a chance to shed the depression of the past and step into the hope for the future. May you find every tool you need to manifest your abundance.

What should I be doing with my educational career?

December 4, 2009

From yogamoon:

in some ways I know what to do and in others I am unsure which direction to send my energy..

example: I could use a business card- I have a generic one with contact info which would work well for distribution in professional educators circles-the main use would be to distribute to try to get more substitute teaching.. yet I am reluctant to do that- there is so little work that all efforts so far have provided little work in that regard- its a good thing that there is much less illness than expected and that HR hired extra people in anticipation of this BUT it means little work..

SO I am turning my energy to more fitness etc.. where I have another skill set and yet a yoga-looking card which would be good.. I can’t seem to decide on a design..
I know this card would not be as well-received by some teachers for sub teaching..

I am staying stuck deciding on a card. NOT BY CHOICE!!

This is one thing.. it is also apart of a new unsettling ongoing question .. which way which career? what is happening with my education career? is is ending unexpectedly ? I have applied for more jobs than you can imagine.. and the ahem younger set gets them over and over or the jobs were misposted or cut or normal blah blah..

basically – i am unsure of what to do with my education career which seems to be changing and possibly ending yet I don’t want that. But I cant keep on applying for jobs which 700 people apply for and 25 year old people continue to get.

What should i be doing?

Inspirations from Binah:

There are some careers that become just jobs, places you to go for a few hours on most days to complete a set of tasks and earn money that can be put into other passions. There are other careers that become a part of who you are, in essence, they are your passion and an integral part of your life. For the latter, the idea that it could end by something other than your choice is impossible.

Educator is a role that once you decide to embody, you are at all times of your life. You say you don’t want your educational career to end, therefore you have answered your own question. Even if 1000 people are applying for the same job, it will be offered to you when you are spiritually and emotionally ready for it.

On a physical level, look over your materials and see what may be holding you back from past jobs. Resume, attitude, cover letter, form of writing… all these are indicative of who you are as a person and educator. Revise your materials so that they show all the beauty, love, compassion, and education you posses. You may discover that although you have the experience and knowledge, you are not showing it.

Spiritually, work with your Higher Self to discover what is holding you back from feeling like you have more to offer than a 25 year old, and showing that through your actions and materials. Before applying for another job, know why you want it and why you are the best fit. Release attachments to negative patterns and judgments, infuse the application with the energy of your qualifications, set an intention for success, and bless it with love energy. Using both your physical and spiritual aspects together will strengthen your work and allow you to achieve your goal.

Being an educator is one of the most important careers you can choose. Show that you understand and accept all aspects of the role and you will obtain true success.

I want to find a job that brings me happiness

September 28, 2009

From Marguerite:

I have moved to be closer to my family and love it.  The issue I’m having is finding a part time job that will bring me satisfaction and value.  I have started a job at a travel agency but I am totally bored and don’t find it a warm environment, the people are nice but closed.  I keep missing signs I think!!!!!!!!  I just need something that brings me to be happy to go to the job site whatever that is. I need the money to supplement my pension and love people.

Thanks you for your comments.  I have the bear paw on a wall hanging and it says “when one door closes another door will open”  I truly believe this and hope to get some clarification on what to do.
Thank you

Inspirations from Binah:

Career advancement, pay, environment, duties, people… all these are elements that must be balanced in order to find the best job. And while these relate specifically to what ‘you’ get out of the job, there is also what your colleagues get from working with you.

You recognize that the job you have right now has a nice environment, but the people are closed. Maybe your reason for being there is beyond the job duties – you could be there to provide a model for how to live life openly. Most people do not choose to be closed, they are instead struggling to find a way to safely shed their barriers and open to the world around them. Having you in the office can provide the support and energy they need to allow themselves to see beyond the dark shadows of closed doors and begin to receive the beauty of the light you transmit. Give them a chance to respond to what you have to offer. You may find your true value is just your presence.

I want to start my career, but my mind is full of negative thoughts

September 26, 2009

From Latisa:

Hi, I have been so long putting off starting my career and my own business for like ten years.  Now, through all the depression, lupus, anxiety, congestive heart failure, I want to achieve my goals.  But sometime it’s hard because my mind tell me negative thought and  running all day.  What should I do?

Inspirations from Binah:

Negative thoughts is a problem shared by many. Whether through conditioning, disease or just the way we were born, it is something we grapple with every day. For some, correcting it is a simple process of training yourself to think in positives. For others, it is about recognizing that this is the way your mind works and creating positive words and actions to counteract your negative thoughts.

Instead of focusing your energy on your thoughts themselves, put your energy into the output of your thoughts. When you think of something negative, immediately think of the positive you want to act on and either say that out loud or write it down. For example, say you want to take a class to learn how to start your own business. You mind may immediately say, “Why do that? You’re never going to have the money to start your own business so its not worth it.” Listen to this thought, realize that it is just negative and contrary with no foundation, then create a goal to take the course by writing it down in your manifestation plan or announcing your intention to those around you. Understand that the negative thought is empty and that the real energy is in the positive action you are going to complete.

Over time, you will find that the negative voice becomes weak. Though it may always be with you, it will no longer hold you back from acting in the positive. Affirmations are also a great way to reinforce the positive action. Use them daily to replace the negative thoughts with a list of all your positive action items.

With a bit of creative thinking, and trust in your inner power, you will be able to use your negative thoughts to your advantage. Do not try to fight it, just accept that they will come and transmute them into something you can work with. Your words and actions can override even the most stubborn, negative thought. Choose your words carefully and you will find your true power for manifestation.

I am homeless and rootless, what is happening?

June 4, 2009

From Elaine:

I have been reading tarot for many years now and only on a casual basis.  i am employed in the world of social housing and have a knack for the people with problems of some sort.  I seem to be able to get through to them and help them with their current crisis.  I am currently working in social housing with the elderly who are of course now more and more active at the age of 60! Most of my 50+ tenants are over 80 but some are much younger.  one in particular is in her 60s and fit and active but has extreme mental problems and although i have done my best with her is dangerous when she is angry.  She has twice poured something caustic over my car but has not been caught doing it, she has made threats about me and is currently being investigated by the police.  My company has moved me out of my present accommodation and is looking for ways of protecting me whilst dealing with this tenant.  my doctor has signed me off work as the whole thing has upset me badly and affected my finances as my car has been written off.  My company is not interested in the financial side and nothing like this has happened before.  We are to work on a policy (at my request) to prevent any other employees going through this again.

Meanwhile, i am homeless, rootless, going between two different homes and feeling like i have no real home at all.  I am trying to be positive and my cards all show this coming to an end but i don’t know whether i want to be involved in housing any more.  I have an inclination to use my spirituality in some way, i am 54 years old and have a good deal of life experience good and  bad behind me.  I don’t have much money but trust i will have enough in my future and always try to help people.  They seem to come to me with their problems.  i have learnt how to protect myself to some extent and i have been told i have a gift and an amazing white sparkling aura.  People who are strangers have told me things that are very strange and personal.  What is happening?

Inspirations from Binah:

A time of transition has begun, and while it may seem uncomfortable, the end is close at hand. This is an opportunity to learn that “home” is not a structure. In a world filled with so many beautiful possessions, it is easy to think that home is a physical space or a set of objects. When this becomes your definition, you lose sight of the true meaning of home… a place you create regardless of where you are… a place within your heart and mind where you find safety and love so you can continue to grow. There is no doubt that your roots are firmly planted in the commitment you have to helping others and your ability to create a safe environment for you and those around you.

Many search their whole lives looking for home, while you create it where ever you are. Whether you return to housing or find a new path, you will thrive in the safety you create. Allow this rare gift to guide you as you begin this next phase of your life. Your guidance has already shown you that the way includes using your talent for creating “home” to help others. With your roots are deeply embedded with Mother Gaia, now is the time to reach for the sky.
