How to Live Consciously

December 3, 2011

From the Eternal Light Energy Facebook fanpage:

Q&A Time: On Monday night at Laya Center – A Woman’s Sanctuary, we talked about Living Consciously. There were many questions coming up about Damanhur Spiritual EcoCommunity, how to bring community into your life, and how to use spirituality and metaphysics in your daily life. I’d like to open a platform here to continue that discussion. If you have a question, ask away!

Robert Gray

I was a product of my past I am trying to overcome that less than compassionate rather traumatic life! I see many things that would make my life better but am stuck ! How do I end the procrastination and melancholy!

yvette Soler replies:

Great question Robert! There are many techniques for manifesting abundance, but all have the same initial requirement: to act! But for many of us, taking that first step is the hardest. Even when you take the first step, continuing on the path can often be hard.

For me, instead of thinking of the big goal or project, I think about the next step I can take. Even if you procrastinate until the very last minute, when you do take a step forward, stop and allow yourself to savor the victory. Celebrate each step as if it is the biggest accomplishment in the world. If you don’t take a step when you thought you would, instead of lamenting it, forgive yourself and ask what you need in order to take it and celebrate it once you do. You can’t go back in time, so there is no use worrying about what was not done, all you can do is remove the obstacles before you one small victorious step at a time!

I can’t handle a long distance relationship

June 27, 2011

2 Trees

Mandy asks:

I recently started seeing someone, but now she is moving away for several months and I am not sure what to do. I really like her and I have a feeling there is something growing between us, but I don’t think it is good to lock ourselves into a relationship when we just met. Should I continue seeing her and risk the sadness of separation or walk away now and trust that if there is something between us it will be there when she gets back. I can’t handle a long distance relationship, but I don’t want to lose her completely. I feel really conflicted.

Inspirations from Binah replies:

New relationships are filled with wonder. Each encounter provides an opportunity to learn and share. With each passing moment, emotions connect and intertwine, quickly processing sensory input into likes and dislikes which become the basis of a relationship.

Traditionally, we have relied on physical proximity to foster this growing connection. But what do you do when that is not possible? Every day, modern technology provides new channels to bring us closer together even when we are physically apart. Can these channels be enough to nurture a new relationship?

To decide the best path, you must look to the heavens to read the navigational signs the Universe is placing before you. While relationships can be enriching, they can also become unhealthy when both parties are not ready. We often find ourselves rushing into something out of fear of losing out, than sitting back and allowing the connection to naturally unfold.

Since you know that the distance is temporary, it may be that the Universe is telling each of you that you have objectives that must be accomplished individually in order to come together out of healthy want, instead of weak need. The test is to see the distance as a spiritual tool, rather than an obstacle. The Universe has given you a glimpse of something beautiful you can be a part of, but only if you continue your own path instead of jumping onto the path of another.

In the time you are apart there will be moments of sadness. There may also be moments of prolonged silence and loneliness. Allow yourself to feel the depths and range of your emotions, for there is much to be learned when you remain present and open. Terence Trent D’Arby sang, “…all lovers must have thought provoking fears” and it is here where you have the greatest opportunity to heal and grow. Embrace the fears, thank them for their service, and then release them, asking your guides to place before you any additional spiritual tools you need to complete the healing process.

Distance never separates two hearts that really care, for our memories span the miles and in seconds we are there. But whenever I start feeling sad because I miss you, I remind myself how lucky I am to have someone so special to miss. -Emily Matthews reworked by Veronica Bowermaster

Patience is not often the easiest human trait to learn, but those who have managed to master it have earned a great prize.  Allow yourself to savor each experience with this person, free of limits, obligations and expectations. Use all the technology at your disposal to keep the connection alive, while being mindful that the physical distance has a purpose that must be honored. This is a time for individual growth; a time to continue on your individual path. Not every step must be taken alone, but at the same time, no step can be rushed. When you feel doubt, call upon your Higher Self and ask for guidance. Release fear and embrace faith.

I sit in the present to relish the beauty
of slow forward movement.

Like watching a delicate flower bloom,
a great magician is showing me
the wonder of patience.
Fear surges from time to time
…wrapping his hands around mine,
it dissipates just as quickly as it comes.

My magician speaks without words.
With every encounter I learn
the language of his actions,
finding that if I allow and trust,
all questions will be answered…
all feelings revealed
when the time is right.

Knowledge comes in different flavors and from many sources

June 25, 2011

In my last newsletter, I told you about my recent trip to Damanhur in Italy. After many scintillating conversations about the synergies between my work and this community, I have been invited to a six months residency to work on a new project. Living at Damanhur will give me the opportunity to fully experience a sustainable, community based spiritual society, something I have often dreamed of. I am packing up my home in Spain and will be moving to Italy next week!!

12 junio 2011 - 12 June 2011During the second half of 2011, my focus is the birth of three projects that I believe are crucial to my personal, and our collective, evolution:

  • Co-creating my book, Your Spiritual Toolbox, with an incredible publishing team.
  • Raising consciousness and creating a better world with Children of the Stars, a life-changing transmedia role playing entertainment experience.
  • Bringing online the Damanhur metaverse.

Always looking for ways to expand my Practical Spirituality Toolbox, I plan to be a student, teacher, mentor, mentee and peer in all of these projects. Each one provides me with new spiritual tools to use in my writing and teaching.  Technology, spirituality, art, language… a melting pot of
expression. Let the manifestation continue!!!

Throughout my residency, in addition to my duties to the community, the projects I am working on and my writing (for Inspirations from Binah and other publications), I am scheduling some time for online consultations and students. I have a feeling my time will be extremely limited, so if you would like to schedule an appointment, please contact me.

I plan to blog extensively and post pictures and videos about what I am working on. Be an active part of the Practical Spirituality community and share in the adventures:

Every day you have an opportunity to learn, teach and grow. Are you taking advantage of it?

“When we trust the path before us,

and accept that we have no idea

what the journey will look like,

we are truly living in the NOW!”

When you are ready to take that first step onto a new path,

I will be ready to help you start living the life you’ve always dreamed of having.

How can I create a creative environment?

June 21, 2011

Monique asks:

I work from home and find that sometimes I miss the creativity that comes from working with a group. Is there anything I can do to create a more creative environment by myself?

Inspirations from Binah replies:

There is a spark of creativity that is often generated when multiple people get together to bounce ideas around. While modern technology makes it easier to co-create in non-physical collaborative environments, it is not always the same as having someone in the room. Then again, working alone does have its advantages — when you are feeling the need to focus, it is much easier to turn off applications on your computer than to shut out people.

To infuse your office or workshop with the energy of a creative work environment, you need to build a system that continuously brings down imaginative energy and integrates it into your physical space. One way to do this is with an altar. While many see altars as only to honor Source, they are also powerful spiritual tools for tapping into energy currents, and with the right intention, filling a given space with that flow.

Altars have been used for centuries as a filter to focus and harmonize energy. It is a place to put sacrificial offerings, voluntarily giving something away in order to open yourself to receive something greater. But they can also be amplifiers, harmonizing energy based on the intention with which each object is placed. It is in this capacity that an altar will generate the creative atmosphere you are looking for.

Creativity Altar

For this work, you will need:

  1. A dedicated space where you can have burning candles.
    1. It can be a shelf or small table, just so long as it is out of the way so as not to be disturbed.
  2. Two candles of any color.
    1. Allow the choice of color to be part of the process. When picking the candles, consciously ask which colors will connect to the creative energy you seek.
  3. A black marker.
  4. Any objects that represent the work you are creating.

Using the marker, draw an Icosahedron like the one shown below on a candle:

Icosahedron

Icosahedron by GeometerArtist, on Flickr

On the other candle draw a Truncated Icosahedron as shown here:

C60

C60 by Arenamontanus, on Flickr

Create a simple affirmation to represent your intention to continuously flow creative energy into the space. Remember to use positive words and the present tense in your affirmation!

With all your preparation complete, now comes the fun part: assembly! Take your time to set your space. Clear out any unwanted energy by smudging or burning cleansing incense. With your space clean, call in your Higher Self and any guides who wish to help you build this altar.

Bring to mind your affirmation, consciously projecting it out onto the altar so that it can be woven into the energy of every object placed. Place the candle with the Icosahedron on the right. Place the candle of the Truncated Icosahedron on the left. Scatter around them the objects that represent the work you are creatively manifesting. As you are doing this, repeat your affirmation continuously — either silently or out loud.

With all the objects in place, light the candles and feel them connect with the symbols to create a renewable engine that pulls down creativity, flows it out in to the space and infuses this energy into your work. Every time you need a boost to your creativity levels, light the candles and let the power of Source spark your imagination.

An Energy Boost Brings you MORE

June 8, 2011

As a writer, I am constantly looking for the perfect words to express my emotions, but sometimes… they just don’t exist. The amount of beauty I have seen in the last two weeks fuels my faith that we *are* changing the world — one step at a time. I won’t deny that we are still on the uphill side of the battleground, but we are fighting hard and making a difference. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for constantly pushing yourself to be better than you were the day before! It reminds me of my favorite quote:

Our lives are the books people read.

By the way we live and the words we speak, we cannot stop setting an example.

~Anonymous

In May, Eternal Light Energy announced an international search for artwork and poetry for my upcoming book, Your Spiritual Toolbox, Guide to Practical Spirituality. Almost daily, new art and poetry came in. Each piece expressed the artist’s passion. Your Spiritual Toolbox has been a co-creation since the very beginning. Each tool was inspired by a question submitted to Inspirations from Binah, and now every poem and illustration comes directly from your creative mind. It has been an incredibly inspiring experience to read through Your Spiritual Toolbox and match spiritual tool to work of art.

Thanks to you, the manuscript is complete and is being submitted to various publishers. Please send abundant manifestation energy so that the perfect publisher sees the importance of presenting this collaborative and inspirational work to the world!

With the book complete, I am moving into a new level of teaching and writing. Monthly study group classes in Sacred Geometry and Kabbalah constantly have me searching for new lessons. I have been studying architecture, physiology and history to gain a greater understanding of how to best create spiritual tools to flow directed energy. Between this new-found energy and my recent trip to Damanhur, I find my sleep patterns altered to include more work in dream time in less hours. ~~ Energy Explosion! ~~

One of the marvelous consequences of this energy boost has been more sharing through Inspirations from Binah and the Practical Spirituality Fanpage on topics like:

  • Looking for love filled relationships
  • Learn how to better accept uncertainty
  • How to live an abundant life
  • Soul searching and self-love
  • Releasing in order to grow

Every day is an opportunity to learn something new. Share your experiences and become part of the Practical Spirituality community!

If you would like to deepen your knowledge in a specific area, visit Eternal Light Energy and explore the Workshops and Study Groups.

If you are not sure what you are looking for and would like to have a guided, spiritual consultation, yvette is available for frank Spiritual Discussions.

Time for me to get back to writing, I have an article due for Presence, the online magazine by Whispers of Spirit. If you have any suggestions on the topics you would like to read about or a question for Inspirations from Binah, send me your ideas!

Will I be punished for my negative thoughts?

June 7, 2011
fragile mind leftover

Fragile Mind Leftover

Manuel asks:

It is my essential belief that the universe returns to us that which we ourselves put out, however we are all of us imperfect and at times though we struggle intellectually not to wish ill upon someone our own hurt may overwhelm us and we find ourselves thinking unkind thoughts of another. Do you believe that if we send out negative thoughts towards someone while struggling to NOT do so the Universe will nonetheless still, for lack of a better word, “punish” us? This is to say if I WANT to be able to wish someone well, but am not yet able to do so are there spiritual consequences I will reap in the interim?

Inspirations from Binah replies:

Human manifestation begins in the mind as a combination of vocabulary and intention. In the psyche, a complex game is being played that mixes together who we are and who we are becoming. Our past provides perspective , and if we are open, we invite additional help from physical and non-physical forces. Each component is vital in order to balance the voluntary and involuntary systems  at play.

Transformation is a continual process. Sometimes, even with the best of intentions, it is difficult to bring what we think we “should” do into alignment with what we are doing. And the reason for this is quite simple: there is still a lesson to be learned. Brute force can only take you so far. You must journey through the entire tree to reach the harmonious point at which Wisdom and Understanding create Knowledge and Mercy converts Judgment into Discernment. Once you have found this balance, you will see the Beauty in every  situation, allowing Thoughts and Emotions to synch in Action.

Learning can be a slow process. We must experience each step, reading the Universal messages and integrating them into daily life. So while this is going on, what do you do about the random (or sometimes not so random) negative thought that escapes before you have a chance to transform it?

You accept — You forgive — You search for the lesson — and… You transmute.

The Universe does not “punish” the seeker, she merely holds up a mirror for us to see the reflection of our actions. Sometimes, those actions come with consequences. If you accept and learn from them, you will find negative effects to be fleeting, and after the sting wears off, you will probably be grateful for the revelation. You see, each lesson allows you to see with clarity the mechanism of the Universe and what part your thoughts and actions play in the development of the reality we are co-creating. It is only when you resist or ignore comprehending the cause that consequences are prolonged, and can escalate into chronic issues.

Your question alone shows that you are on a path to discover the light hidden in the darkness of your psyche. Just as a small child learning to walk may get scratched or bruised when he falls, you too will encounter a few Universal pains, but they will heal quickly. With each step you will learn how to balance and control your power, knowing when to treat yourself with compassion vs. discipline. Listen to your internal guidance and treat each adversity as an opportunity to be educated, then apply to daily life what you have learned, turning lessons into growth.

Who lead me down this road?

June 5, 2011
Footprints in the snow - Colorado

Footprints in the snow

Vicki asks:

Years ago I followed foot prints in the snow down the road and into the woods, the foot prints led me to a slash pile, there was no other tracks leading away from the slash pile, there was no way for whomever’s tracks they were to leave the pile, it has baffled me for years as to who led me to this slash pile and why?

Inspirations from Binah replies:

When we look upon a think blanket of snow, we naturally think of purity. We use the term “virgin snow” to describe the scene — not just because it is undisturbed, but because it is a blank slate that can contain anything. The snow covers what lies beneath, hiding the unimportant and forcing us to understand the significance of that which cannot be seen. Where the average traveler sees nothingness, the seeker relies on spiritual senses to “see” the details and decipher the clues.

In life, crossroads usually have many avenues. They are littered with the debris of the seekers that have come before you, each item providing clues as to what you may find if you travel this road. By contrast, your path showed you only one thing, that someone traveled before you. You have no other information to cloud your judgment or pre-dispose you to what you may find. It is a pure experience meant only for you.

While knowing who led you to the slash pile may be interesting, focusing on that prevents you from seeing the importance of the experience. You were guided down a virgin path for a reason. What do you remember of the walk? What type of trees were part of the pile? How did it feel when you reached the end of the footprints?

In mythology, trees offer us a living reminder of events beyond our comprehension. They are the silent witnesses to history’s greatest victories and failures. But your trees were not alive, they were cut down and left behind. What stories were stored in the bark of their trucks that needed to be silenced? Are their roots still alive to share the tale with others?

It is the trees that provide the answers to your questions. Flow back in your memory to the day’s events and re-connect to the trees sitting in that pile. Feel the elemental energy around them and ask what you need to learn. If you find the elementals to be elusive, let your Higher Self be your guide; they tried to communicate with you before and it didn’t work, so they may be hesitant to share for fear you will not listen.

With perseverance and kindness, the elementals will find a way to share their story with you. Listen carefully to the tales of the wood, for it symbolizes a relationship that has become solid and long-lasting, representing growing strength. Before its power decays, it is choosing to pass its knowledge to you.

How do I take my career to the next level?

May 22, 2011

Ayamanatara shares:

I feel ready to take my career to the next level. What do I need to do?

Inspirations from Binah replies:

For many of us, our careers and lives blend into one creating a rich landscape filled with experiences and inspiration. It is through this wonderful embrace of “who you are” and “what you do” that you can create without limits, turning dreams into reality. It is here where the heart of an artist resides, for it takes artistry and creative thought to turn a job into a meaningful career that fuels the life you want to live.

Along the path, there may be obstacles that prevent you from allowing yourself to reach the dizzying heights you long for. Yes, work-life balance is important, but that only applies to work done without emotion. A career can be different, if you want it to be. A career can be a part of who you are, converting ordinary work into life purpose, and easily showing you how to balance all the great loves in your life.

It is clear that you are ready to move away from the thought of a job and into a career that fulfills you. Equally clear is that there is something blocking the way; something hiding in the shadows that must be exposed and cleared if you are to continue forward. Let us take a walk through the landscape of your internal self in search of answers. I have a feeling there are trusted guides nearby.

A Brilliant Meadow of Delights

You first notice the deep vegetation covering the ground. The landscape has changed. It is rich and alive with grasses and plants. The meadow feels welcoming and invites you to relax. There is a light breeze, carrying with it the smell of fresh lemons. You feel safe and protected.

As you wander across the meadow, you hear the sound of rocks being moved. You walk closer and see a man creating a circle out of stones. Silently, you watch him work. Even though he is bent down, you can tell that he is tall, heavy and strong. He is wearing an tunic and trousers in earth tones. He looks at one with the earth, and yet with the unmistakable energy of someone not from this plane. With the last rock in place, the circle is complete. Almost immediately, a layer of meadowsweet begins to grow in between the stones filling the circle with the vibrant energy full of life.

With his work complete, your host looks at you and waves you in. You step over the meadowsweet covered rocks  and into the circle. The energy here is crisp, as if it just rained. You look at your host and feel like you are in the presence of your Holy Guardian Angel. He chuckles and says, “I get that a lot. I am Sandalphon, welcome to my Kingdom.”

“I can see that you are in search of something, a key that will give you the ability to overcome the inertia you feel with your career. It is important to be grounded, but too much of that can lead to laziness. It is important to find the balance, something you are currently lacking. I think I know just the person who can help you.”

He steps out and disappears into a brilliant light. You sit in the circle and feel the physical world around you through all your senses. Ideas and images keep swirling around, showing you the physical barriers preventing you from reaching your career goals. You make note of each one, silently asking for guidance on what you must do to overcome them.

Sandalphon returns and he is followed by someone, or something. The light is so bright you can barely keep your eyes open. Sandalphon turns to the other being and says with a humorous tone, “OK, Mr Wizard, you are brilliant. Now can you turn the light show down a notch so we can actually see you?” With a chuckle, the light dims and you clearly see the man behind the light. Even though he is laughing, you can feel an otherworldliness to him. There are no words to describe what you see and feel, it is as if all the power of the Universe is before you and yet, you also feel like he is all the power within you. He is pure Union with everything.

Sandalphon breaks the spell by saying, “May I present to you my brother, Metatron.” While there is still the same vegetation within the circle, you notice that there is now a row of flowering almond trees just beyond the meadowsweet covered stones. The air is lighter and perfumed by the almonds.

“My brother tells me you are feeling a little stagnant in your career progress. Fear not, it happens to the best of us. Sometimes, in our quest to feel stable and secure, we trap ourselves into a routine. To complete the Great Work, you need to regain your sense of wonder and use creative imagination to create change.”

Sandalphon continues his brother’s thoughts, “You see, while I provide what you need to build in the physical world, my brother provides the gift of clear and perceptive thought. This insight will allow you to recognize and resolve the obstacles on your career path. Together, we aid you in co-creating your reality in harmony with your life purpose so that you can feel safe even when taking a risk. Without risk, there is no growth.”

Metatron steps forward and hands you a single almond. Sandalphon lays some meadowsweet over it. “We are brothers in thought and deed. Allow your thoughts to flow up and down the Tree of Life, bringing dreams down to reality and raising reality to reach your dreams.”

Metatron turns to his brother, “It is time to leave. We must continue our work.” He turns to you, “Anytime you need us, you have only to think of our gifts. We are with you always.” With that, they both turn and exit the circle. You sit in focused meditation and follow their advice, exploring where you are, what is keeping you there and how to get to where you want to go.
