When I attended Ms. Soler’s class, I did not have any knowledge about Sacred Geometry or the Kabbalah. I found her class to be enjoyable and educational. The manner in which she presented the class material made learning fun. Ms. Soler is a gifted teacher and healer. The evident of
her strength is within the spelling of the first name. The lower case y, indicates a lady who bows low and aims high to bring healing, friendship, knowledge and love to all she touches. Great classes, thank
you yvette.  -Gloria Nelson

The Spirituality of Food

April 16, 2011

There is a deep, spiritual connection between people and food. Food has the ability to nourish body, mind and soul. In this Practical Spirituality tip, I share with you my experiences with food and shows you that eating and preparing food is something sacred and should be treated as such.

How do you feel about food?

Let Forgiveness Bloom

April 15, 2011

With Mercury in retrograde, you may notice a less than perfect version of yourself reacting strongly to mishaps and incidents in your life. Whether because you have trouble getting to your destination, an argument with a co-worker, or just an adverse reaction to something trivial, you probably had a moment that made you stop and say, “Hey, who was that just then? Why did I react that way?”

When you feel this way, take some deep, cleansing breaths.  Breath in life force energy and breath out all the feelings of anger, hostility or just general blah. There are some very valuable lessons to be learned while Mercury is in retrograde because it asks us to look into unresolved issues and energies. Communication often goes awry because we don’t take the time to think before we speak. Forgiving yourself for any resentments or quick judgments is a very powerful way to use this period of retrograde to your advantage. The spiritual tool below is a way to release energies that cause us to act in ways that are not authentic to our Higher Self.  Remember the old adage, “April Showers Bring May Flowers”; in this case we know the flowers of forgiveness bloom forever.

purple tulip

Garden of Forgiveness

For this ritual you will need deep purple tulip bulbs, a container or area in your garden, fresh soil, a small collection of items that represent your shame and guilt (you can include photographs, drawings, objects, etc.), a yellowish green marker or crayon and some paper.

On a Monday, create a sacred space, call in your Higher Self and with the marker or crayon, write out your feelings. Allow yourself to purge all the emotions you denied for so long. Write about the pain, the darkness, the shame… write until there is nothing left to write. When you are done, take what you have written along with the objects and place them out in the Sun. For the next few days be gentle with yourself as you feel the Sun’s rays purify and disintegrate the negative energies that once controlled you.

On the following Thursday, take your letter, objects, plant and soil and in sacred ceremony call upon Mother Earth to guide you in forgiveness. Dig a hole deep enough for your tulip bulbs and the objects, then one by one say good-bye to each item and place it in the hole. As you place the object, feel yourself releasing any cords or ties you once had. Put your letter in last and as you cover the objects with a layer of dirt, feel your heart swell with love and compassion. Your final step is to plant the tulips over these objects, letting Mama Gaia take away your pain through your commitment to new life.

In time, with care, your plant will grow and bloom. With each new tulip, you will be reminded of the natural beauty that grows from the bulb buried in the dark soil. When the season is over, your plant will complete its cycle and die, returning to the Earth. It is then that your cycle of forgiveness will be complete. All that will remain will be the beautiful memories and much love.

Sincere forgiveness isn’t colored with expectations that the other person apologize or change. Don’t worry whether or not they finally understand you. Love them and release them. Life feeds back truth to people in its own way and time. -Sara Paddison

Bring Crystals into your Practical Spirituality

April 1, 2011

As we cross the mid-winter point in the northern hemisphere, we feel the beginning of that familiar tug toward spring.  The days are getting a little longer, there is more sunlight peeking through and we all may be feeling ready to let go of the long winter, are you ready for it?

The last half year has been extremely introspective.  Like Demeter in Greek mythology, we have descended into our private Hades and explored the dusty corners of our psyches.  With a single candle in hand, we have been shining light on all those areas we neglected for way too long, finding understanding and acceptance where once was confusion and resentment.

With spring right around the corner, it is time to turn that candle into a giant torch and flood these areas with light and love.  It is time for Spring Cleaning; a time for new beginnings and re-dedications.  Say thank you to all the hard life lessons learned and release them, and make room for new love and passion.  Transmute unwanted energy and turn your body into a sacred temple aligned to your life purpose.

This work can also be extended into your physical home with a Space Clearing and Blessing, then tuning the energy with Crystals or other totems. We will be highlighting ways to cleanse and clear this April. Please enjoy our first segment on cleansing crystals.

Below are some guidelines that show you how to properly cleanse your crystals and just a few ways to work with crystals!

Enjoy!

Cleansing Your Crystals

In general, crystals take in and out energy continuously.  When helping us through specific situations, such as disease, a crystal may get clogged up with the lower vibrations it is tranmutting, hence the need for a routine cleansing.  We also want to cleanse a stone before we use it for something new.  This is done to wipe any previous programming it contained and align it with your new intention.

There are many ways to cleanse and charge your crystals.

  • Place in salt or running water, then charge in the sun for a full day.
  • Bury in the earth for 24 hours.
  • Place in sea salt water for 24 hours.
  • Smudge with purifying incense such as sage, sweetgrass or palo santo.

Before you place a crystal in the sun or water for long periods of time, do a little reading to make sure that it will not harm the particular stone.  Some stones, such as Selenite, melt in water, and others, such as Amethyst, can fade with direct sunlight.

With your crystals happily recharged with positive energy, it is time for them to begin their new assignments!

Working With Crystals

(excerpts provided by PeacefulMind.com)

Energy medicine is based on the belief that the human body is composed of energy fields. When the energy is properly distributed and circulating freely, the body is healthy. Imbalances or abnormal amounts of energy are believed to indicate an excess or deficiency.
Crystals and Gemstones are great energy tools. Many aspects of a stone come into play when we use them for healing!

Developed from many different generations by many different cultures of people, these remedies, crystal healing uses the innate power of the stones to work on many different levels for many types of ailments. These remedies have been handed down through families and tribes, teachers and shaman as are the traditions and recipes of any culture.

Put your crystals in a pouches and carry them with you.

This is one of the most interesting and oldest remedies. Usually a prescription of 2 – 4 crystals, these complementary stones are carried or worn on the person or placed in a certain area. This prescription can be used for anything from healing to psychic awareness, healing an emotional wound as in discouragement or sorrow, or bringing about such aspects as love, money, protection, guidance, spiritual attunement, strength or even addiction. Carry the stone in your pocket or pocketbook.365 days of Spiritual Photos: 2 March 2011

Crystal Extracts and Elixirs

While the methods used for this vary, a basic recipe is to place clean stones or crystals into clean, clear distilled water and place it in the morning sun through the day and into the night of a full moon for 24 hours. This allows the (male) sun energy and (female) moon energy to reflect through the water and into the crystals therefore charging the water with this vibrational force of light and color.  This elixir can then be taken orally to infuse your body with the properties of the stone.  Read carefully about the stone before doing this since not all crystals should be ingested.

Crystal Hydrotherapy

Hydrotherapy is the use of water in any form in the treatment of dis-ease and was used by the ancient Greek physicians. Hydrotherapy and crystals have a number of uses. Crystals salts with warm water will relax spasm; therefore, hydrotherapy has been useful in treating such conditions as muscular strains and sprains, muscular fatigue, and backache. If your crystal can tolerate water, then bathing with the crystal energy is a great way to work with your stone.

Meditate with your crystal

By placing your crystal in your hand, on or near your body, you can enhance your meditation with the unique properties of the crystal chosen. Close your eyes and set your intention to tune into the vibration of the crystal’s energy. Remember: “Energy follows thought”. The imagery of visualization is very powerful! As you breath, you may inhale and exhale through the Chakra points. This will charge the Chakra and surrounding organs with vital energy.

By “laying of the stones” on the Chakra points or along meridians, you can boost your healing. While meditating, you work directly with the stone and ask it to balance the corresponding area, organs or emotional center.

Crystal Gridding your physical space

By placing crystals in divine geometric order, with sacred invocations, we open energetic doorways through which more energy and light can flow. The power brought in through this can protect, enhance wholeness, abundance, manifestation, and completion of all your desires and needs.

Those are just some of the ways to use crystals in your Practical Spirituality practice.  Do you have others?  I’d love to hear about them.

A Green Message for St. Patrick’s Day

March 16, 2011

The Power and Energy of the color Green

Shamrocks

We wear green on St. Patrick’s Day in the United States, but in Ireland, Green is part of the colors of the flag; green symbolizes the Catholic portion of Ireland, Orange Symbolizes the protestant, and white represents the color of peace between the factions. Green is more than a color for this holiday however, it is a powerful energetic color and using it, in clothes or placing it around your home, can bring in changes associated with its energy. Below is a little Practical Spiritual about the color Green -its energy and significance.  When you put on your green the 17th, think about more than just celebrating Ireland on St. Patrick’s Day, imagine the ways you would like to celebrate Green in your life!

Green is the color of nature, fertility, life.  It helps balance your emotional psyche pushing you to find harmony between the tangible and intangible, striving for equilibrium between what you want and want you need.

An incredibly healing color, green is wonderful to wear when you need to flow through your emotions and find peace.  Green bedrooms feel safe and encourage rest.  It is the color of learning.  It promotes a sense of well-being and self-respect through continuous emotional growth and healing.  Green revitalizes your life-force energy by connecting Mother Nature directly to that part of you that feels without thought.

On the physical side, green was believed to be very healing for the eyes, hair, kidneys and complexion.  Egyptians wore green eyeliner.  Raw green foods maintain our continued good health.  Green juices are wonderful to clean out the toxins that often run through our bodies.

Friday is the day of green.  It brings us power in relationships, creativity in the arts and idealism.

Green Energy

Green Energy

Green contains the powerful energies of nature, growth, desire to expand or increase. Balance and a sense of natural order are found in the color green. Change and transformation is necessary for growth, and so this ability to sustain changes is also a part of the energy of green.

Calcite

Green Crystals

In crystals, such as jade, green is often is associated with the heart chakra and increases love and nurturing.  Green stones promote hope and give personal insights.  They can be mental healers, as in a green calcite, dissolving rigid beliefs and restoring balance in the mind.  You can carry, wear or place green crystals around your home.  The extraterrestrial moldavite can be used for fertility, while green jasper is wonderful for flowing through obsession and cleaning out toxicity.

Put some green in your life when you:

  • want a new state of emotional balance
  • feel a need for personal change or growth
  • seek the freedom to pursue new ideas
  • need protection from fears and anxieties connected with the demands of others

When you drink something green this St. Patrick’s day, visualize the green liquid connecting you to Mother Gaia and awakening your feelings of harmony and happiness.

All theory, dear friend, is gray, but the golden tree of life springs ever green.
