I am living between two worlds, how do I live my purpose?

March 14, 2011

From Rakesh:

My spiritual quest began many years ago. Many a times, my developments happened by chance, not when I am “trying”. I feel I am aware of most of the basics of spirituality, but there is this constant need in me to learn more so I can make the big jump. But it isn’t happening. Am I trying too hard?
In those stages when I developed by chance, I felt the universe was telling my what my purpose in my life is. With a lot of commitment, I tried to put my life in that path, but to no avail. Now I feel like I am lost in between two worlds. I am forced to live again in the materialistic world, but truly speaking it feels like I am in a no man’s land in between two worlds.
Is there any advice you can give me?

Inspirations from Binah:

The quest to understand and live your life purpose is as elusive as the Holy Grail.  Many set out on this journey only to return frustrated and discouraged.  But why?  If this is a natural part of life, it should be easy…. and it is.  The problem is that you are looking for a destination instead of seeing that the secret is embedded in the path.

Spirituality is a part of who you are.  It is the guiding principles by which you live your life.  Your Spiritual Tools provide the basis for capturing, understanding and integrating the messages you receive daily.  There will always be a constant need to learn more, because you are constantly growing.  Every day you live another step on the path; every day you evolve.  It is only when you look back and reflect on all that you have traveled that you see the big jumps.  Each jump is made of tiny little steps you took.  Decisions you were only able to make because you listened to your internal guidance.

Your life purpose is a feeling, an experience and what guides the way you live in this world.  It is the container you fill daily with your actions, for we were put on this planet to live amongst men… to create, learn, love and be.  To see your life purpose you must release the expectation of what form your container takes, instead trusting that it is there even when your physical senses tell you it is not.  When you are walking your life purpose, the container is filled with the balanced emotions that come from accomplishments in the physical.  It is large enough to capture all the wonderful experiences and strong enough to hold the lessons learned from mistakes.

To explore where you are and what direction you should take on your life journey…

Life Purpose Cube

Set your sacred space
Face north and visualize a cube around you: a full, 3D cube that is the size of your entire body
For each step below, take your time and allow the cube to confirm your answer

  • Step into the north and ask: Who am I?
  • Step into the east and ask: What am I?
  • Step into the south and ask: Where did I come from?
  • Step into the west and ask: Where am I going?
  • Project up and ask: What is my spiritual foundation?
  • Project down and ask: What is my physical foundation?
  • Step into the center and ask: What is my purpose?

Record your answers.  Repeat this ritual every few months or years to see your “big jumps”.

Our minds are finite, and yet even in these circumstances of finitude we are surrounded by possibilities that are infinite, and the purpose of life is to grasp as much as we can out of that infinitude. -Alfred North Whitehead

  1. Focusing on the destination, and not the path.. That is very true…… Thanks dear, God bless!
