What is the best way to Astral Travel?
March 3, 2009Posted by Douglas Thomson: I have tried over 20 years to astral travel. I have never succeeded. I have followed directions in various books and those who practice it all the time. Can you provide some direction on the best way to allow myself this experience.

The astral plane provides a rich landscape of beings for you to learn from. Unlike meditation, this is a journey outward and therefore should have a destination and purpose before you begin. With the right intention, you can create long-term learning relationships with beings and visit great temples of knowledge.
My current journeys have introduced me to a being that is wise beyond the years of this world. He is working with me on various topics, helping me see things in ways I never thought possible. The inspiration for this group came from him, and with his encouragement I am manifesting it through the four worlds.
Experience has taught me that Astral Traveling is something that must be taught from mouth to ear. Book resources can give you the steps, but they do not provide the necessary energy. Your space and body must be protected at all times which is a significant amount of energy to source when you are trying to concentrate on your technique. Having a guide provide that safety and energy for you on your first journey allows your mind to flow freely.
I have a plethora of tips to share, but given that I don’t know what techniques you have been using, I am hesitant to do so. My recommendation is to take a class with someone that is going to be there to guide you through the experience. I live near the Center of Cosmic Heart Spiral of Love where Bernard Perona (Drunvalo) studied in North Vancouver, B.C., Canada. I’m curious about the information offered at this centre, but feel wary of visiting, because of previously mentioned association. You wrote that you know many teachers around the world, and I was wondering if you could advise me on finding a reputable teacher in my area who could assist me with beginning meditation, and moving towards rebirthing and dwelling in Source.
